Hosted Exchange 2016 DNS Settings

In order to point the mail flow to your Hosted Microsoft Exchange 2016 you need to configure the necessary DNS records responsible for the email services. You’ll need to add:   2 MX servers, 2 CNAME servers, 1 TXT record and 1 SFV record.

1. In case we are already hosting your DNS, you can change this in your panel account.

2. If you are using third party name servers, you need to create our DNS records below via your domain’s registrar/provider control panel or to ask your DNS hosting provider to make the changes for you.

1. MX Records (If you are using our Barracuda)

MX    10   barracuda01.hosting.ca
MX    10   barracuda02.hosting.ca

MX Records (if you are using our SpamTitan)

MX   10    spamtitan.hosting.ca
MX   10    spamtitan2.hosting.ca

2. CNAME Records

webmail.yourdomain.com -> redirect.canadawidehostingservices.ca

3. TXT SPF Record

“v=spf1 ip4:72.15.149.184/24 mx:barracuda01.hosting.ca mx:barracuda02.hosting.ca ~all”

4. SRV DNS Records

_autodiscover._tcp 0 0 443 autodiscover.canadawidehostingservices.ca

Keep in mind that there is a propagation time when DNS changes are made. Typically, the propagation time takes up to a couple of hours for DNS changes to update across the Internet’s DNS system; however, it can occasionally take longer (4-6 hours) for a change to take effect. The propagation time after Name Servers change is longer, it takes 24-48 hours.
