The network is one of only a few “multi-homed” ISP networks in Canada, consisting of redundant backbone connections to five major backbone providers and two Internet Exchanges, the Toronto Internet Exchange (TORIX) and the Ottawa Internet Exchange (Ottix). With connectivity from 1 Gb to 10 Gb, combined backbone connections provide an aggregate backbone bandwidth of over 38000 Mbps (38 Gbps)!
The data center uses redundant high-end Cisco series Routers for backbone routing. The data center has 10 Gb connections to the Internet that supplies us with Carrier and access diversity. The Telus and Allstream feeds utilize separate building entrance locations and separate building risers for complete diversity.
There are also direct peering connections with Telus, Shaw, MCI, Primus US, Seattle IX (SIX), Peering and Internet Exchange (PAIX), Navigata, Peer 1, Allstream, Bell, NYIIX, TORIX.
